Florida Paycheck Calculator
No state income tax — free, with 2026 federal and state rates.
Florida is one of the nine states that take nothing from your paycheck at state level. That makes this Florida paycheck calculator refreshingly simple: federal income tax, Social Security and Medicare are the whole story for 2026 — and the calculator shows each one, dollar by dollar.

How your Florida paycheck is taxed in 2026
Florida has never taxed wages at the state level, and its constitution makes a future income tax very hard to introduce. On a Florida paycheck the only deductions here are federal income tax, Social Security and Medicare.
Three more deductions apply in every state. Federal income tax uses the 2026 brackets (10% to 37%) after the federal standard deduction — $16,100 if you file single, $32,200 if married filing jointly. Social Security takes 6.2% of your wages up to $184,500. Medicare takes 1.45% of all wages, plus an extra 0.9% on wages above $200,000.

Florida tax rates and brackets — 2026
No state income tax. Rates apply only to the income inside each bracket, never to your whole salary at once.
Florida charges no state income tax on wages, so there is no bracket table to show. The only income tax on a Florida paycheck is federal.
Florida paycheck questions
Why is there no state tax on my Florida paycheck?
Florida's constitution prohibits a personal income tax on wages, so the state funds itself mainly through sales and property taxes instead. Your employer withholds only federal income tax and FICA from your pay.
How much tax is taken from a $55,000 paycheck in Florida?
For a single filer in 2026, about $4,420 goes to federal income tax, $3,410 to Social Security and $798 to Medicare, leaving take-home pay of roughly $46,370 a year — about $1,784 per biweekly paycheck. Enter your own pay above to check your number.
I moved from New York to Florida. How much do I save?
On an $80,000 salary, skipping New York State tax (and NYC tax if you lived in the city) is worth roughly $3,700 to $6,400 a year in extra take-home pay. Compare both states with this calculator by switching the state — the federal part stays the same.
Does Florida tax bonuses or overtime?
Only at the federal level. Florida adds nothing, but the IRS treats bonuses as supplemental wages, so your employer may withhold a flat 22% federal on a bonus. Any over-withholding comes back when you file your federal return.
